Description

A Joint Effort: Understanding FDA-Approved Cannabis Medications

Activity type: Knowledge-based

Format: Live via webinar

Date: March 11, 2026 12:00-1:00pm via webinar

CPE Credit: 1.0 contact hour (0.1 CEU)

Target Audience: Pharmacists in any practice setting.

Why Attend: Therapeutic use of cannabis has continued to rise over the years and the state-specific legal landscape has continued to evolve. Despite an increase in usage, educational gaps and misinformation among health care professionals remain. It is important for health care professionals, including pharmacists, to have a basic knowledge of cannabis use, which includes legal considerations and FDA-approved cannabis medications.

Objectives:

  1. Describe foundational cannabis concepts, including cannabinoid compounds (THC, CBD), the endocannabinoid system and cannabinoid receptor activity.
  2. Identify key federal and state regulatory considerations related to cannabis.
  3. Explain the clinical uses and key safety and efficacy considerations for FDA-approved cannabis medications.
